This Threads post preview lays your text out the way the feed lays it out. Paste a post into the editor and it renders beside it as you type, with your images as the swipeable set the feed draws.

There is no “more” control on this card, and that is the point of the page rather than an omission: Threads shows all 500 characters of a post. Every other text-first network hides most of a long post behind a boundary, so a draft that was written for one of them reads differently here — the whole thing lands at once.

500 characters is roughly 80 to 90 words, which makes the limit itself the constraint. A post that runs over is better as a chain: replying to your own post continues the thread and each reply gets its own 500 characters.

Threads shares an account with Instagram and does not share its limits — an Instagram caption takes 2,200. Nothing here is uploaded: the images you pick are read by your own browser and never leave it.

Questions

Does Threads cut a long post?

No. All 500 characters show in the feed, which is why this preview draws no boundary.

How long can a Threads post be?

500 characters, including spaces, emoji and mentions.

Is the Threads limit the same as Instagram's?

No. A Threads post takes 500 characters and an Instagram caption takes 2,200, even though the two share an account.

Does this tool upload my images anywhere?

No. They are read inside your browser and never sent anywhere. Closing the tab discards them.
