Postiz is the open-source scheduler most people compare against: free to run on your own server, or $29 a month in the cloud. People look elsewhere when running it becomes a job of its own, or when the cloud plan their team needs costs more than a hosted tool that does the same.
This guide compares seven Postiz alternatives, one open-source and six hosted, and says who each one suits. Every price was read off the vendor’s own pricing page on 24 or 25 September 2026, and each entry has a screenshot of that page. We make PostPost.ai, which is one of the seven; we say where the others beat it.

What Postiz costs in 2026
Postiz has two prices: the cloud plans below, and $0 for the open-source code (AGPL-3.0) that you run yourself.
| Cloud plan | Monthly | Yearly, per month | Channels | Team members | AI each month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $29 | $23 | 5 | 1 person | 3 AI videos, no AI images |
| Team | $39 | $31 | 10 | Unlimited | 100 images, 10 videos |
| Pro | $49 | $39 | 30 | Unlimited | 300 images, 30 videos |
| Ultimate | $99 | $79 | 100 | Unlimited | 500 images, 60 videos |
Posts are unlimited on every plan, and the API, webhooks and RSS auto-posting are on all of them.
Self-hosting has no licence fee, and the costs move to your side. Postiz’s own docs list PostgreSQL, Redis and Temporal as parts of the install, and recommend a server with 4 vCPU and 8 GB of memory.
Why people switch from Postiz
Four reasons come up in the guides ranking for this search and in Postiz’s own docs.
- Self-hosting is ongoing work. Someone has to keep the server, the database, Redis and Temporal running and apply every update.
- Each network needs your own developer app. On a self-hosted install, Postiz’s docs say you register an app on each platform’s developer portal and set its keys yourself. That includes X, LinkedIn, TikTok and Meta, and some of them review the app before it can post.
- The cloud entry plan is for one person. A second person means Team at $39.
- It does not write the posts. The AI copilot and the monthly image and video quotas help, and the ideas and the writing are still yours.
How we chose these alternatives
We started from the tools named by the pages ranking highest for “Postiz alternatives”. Almost all of those pages are written by a competitor that ranks itself first, so we kept the tools a Postiz user would realistically move to and left out API-only posting services.
Mixpost is the one open-source alternative with a comparable feature set; the rest are hosted. For each tool we read the pricing page, took a screenshot and noted the date.
The 7 best Postiz alternatives
1. PostPost.ai
Best for: small businesses where nobody has time to write the posts.
PostPost.ai starts from your website instead of an empty calendar. It reads the site, builds a brand kit from it (services, prices, tone, colours, logo) and writes a week of posts for each channel, with images to match. You review and approve every post before it goes out.
Key features
- Posts, carousels and images written from your own website
- One calendar for Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Telegram, Google Business Profile, Bluesky and Pinterest
- Comments and DMs in one inbox, and analytics, on every plan
- Unlimited team seats on every plan, and an MCP server for Claude or ChatGPT
Pricing: Starter is $29 a month ($290 a year) for one brand on three channels and about 30 posts. Business is $59 a month ($590 a year) with no channel cap and about 60 posts. Pro is $149 for three brands and Studio $299 for ten. There is a 7-day trial, and you can see your first posts before entering a card.
Pros
- Writes the posts, which none of the other six do
- Nothing to host, and no developer apps to register
Cons
- No free plan and no self-hosting
- Needs a website to read; without one there is nothing to build from
- DMs come in from Facebook and Instagram only
“We were spending 4–5 hours a week on Instagram posts alone. I had to employ someone — separate images, separate text, then load it into every channel. Now it takes me 15 minutes for the whole week.” — 2VP.Uk, design and build contractor, London
Paste your website and see the week it writes.
2. Mixpost
Best for: people who want to stay self-hosted and pay once instead of monthly.
Mixpost is the other open-source scheduler. You run it on your own server like Postiz, and the paid Pro edition is a one-time licence instead of a subscription.
Key features
- Unlimited social accounts and team members on Pro
- Approval flow, a posting queue, first comments and threads
- An API, MCP and webhooks on Pro
Pricing: Lite is free and publishes to Facebook Pages, X and Mastodon only. Pro is $299 once and adds Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky and Google Business Profile, with one year of updates. Enterprise is $1,199 once, with white label and customer billing for running it as a service.
Pros
- No monthly bill once it is running
- Unlimited accounts and people for one price
Cons
- The same server work as Postiz: PHP 8.3, MySQL and Redis, and your own developer app per network
- The free Lite edition covers three networks, so most people need Pro
3. Publer
Best for: the lowest paid price that still covers most networks.
Publer is hosted and prices each social account separately, from $4 an account. It has much of what Postiz users like: RSS automations, bulk scheduling, and an API and MCP on the Business plan.
Key features
- Bulk scheduling, RSS automations and a link in bio page
- Telegram, Bluesky, Mastodon, WordPress and Google Business Profile
- Comment replies from the calendar
Pricing: Professional is $5 a month for the first account, $4 for each one after and $2 per extra member. Business is $10, then $7 an account and $3 a member, and adds analytics, approvals, recycling and the API. Annual billing saves 20%. The free plan covers 3 accounts, without X.
Pros
- Cheaper than Postiz Standard for one person on up to seven accounts
- A real free plan
Cons
- Approvals, analytics and the API need Business
- No inbox for direct messages
4. Buffer
Best for: one person with a few channels who wants the simplest tool.
Buffer is the easiest scheduler here to learn. It has a free plan, which Postiz’s cloud does not.
Key features
- A queue and calendar that a new user understands in minutes
- Comment replies in the community inbox on every plan
- Analytics from Essentials
Pricing: Free covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each. Essentials is $6 per channel a month ($5 annually) for one user. Team is $12 per channel ($10) with unlimited users and approvals. 14-day trial.
Pros
- Free for three channels, X included
- Nothing to learn and nothing to host
Cons
- Priced per channel, so ten channels on Team cost $120 where Postiz Team is $39
- No RSS automations
5. SocialPilot
Best for: agencies that manage many accounts on a budget.
SocialPilot is the hosted tool closest to Postiz’s price for a team. It adds a social inbox from Standard and client approval from Premium.
Key features
- Social inbox and manager approval from Standard
- Client approval and free client seats from Premium
- X, Google Business Profile and Bluesky included
Pricing: Essentials $30 a month for 7 accounts and 1 user. Standard $50 for 15 accounts and 3 users. Premium $100 for 25 accounts and 6 users. Ultimate $200 for 50 accounts and unlimited users. Annual billing saves 15%. 14-day trial.
Pros
- Fifteen accounts, three people and an inbox for $50
- Extra accounts are $4, extra users $5
Cons
- Essentials has no inbox, analytics or approvals
- Users are counted, where Postiz Team has no limit
6. Metricool
Best for: people who care most about analytics and reports.
Metricool’s analytics start on the first paid plan, with unlimited history and competitor tracking.
Key features
- Analytics with unlimited history and competitor tracking
- Up to 5 brands on the entry plan
- Link in bio pages
Pricing: Free covers one brand, without LinkedIn or X. Starter $25 a month ($20 annually) for up to 5 brands. Advanced $67 ($53) for 15 brands, with team management and approvals. X is an add-on at $10 a month per account.
Pros
- The best reporting for the price
- Several brands on one plan
Cons
- X costs extra per account
- A second person needs Advanced
7. SocialBee
Best for: one person who wants a queue that refills itself.
SocialBee sorts posts into content categories and recycles the evergreen ones on a schedule, so the calendar stays busy with less new writing each week.
Key features
- Content categories with automatic recycling
- X, Bluesky and Google Business Profile on every plan
- Post approval from the Accelerate plan
Pricing: Bootstrap $29 a month for 5 profiles, Accelerate $49 for 10, Pro $99 for 25 profiles and 3 users ($290, $490 and $990 a year). An extra user is $10 a month. 14-day trial.
Pros
- Recycling and categories on the entry plan
- Five profiles and every network for $29, the same as Postiz Standard
Cons
- The first two plans are single-user
- A team of three costs $99
Postiz vs the alternatives: pricing compared
Here are two typical setups priced at every hosted tool: one brand on 3 accounts for one person, and one brand on 7 accounts for a team of three.
| Tool | 3 accounts, 1 person | 7 accounts, 3 people |
|---|---|---|
| Postiz (cloud) | $29 | $39 |
| Publer | $12 | $32 (Business $55) |
| SocialPilot | $30 | $50 |
| PostPost.ai | $29 | $59 |
| Metricool | $25 | $67 |
| Buffer | $18 | $84 |
| SocialBee | $29 | $99 |
Monthly billing. Publer’s and Buffer’s free plans would cover the first setup at $0 if you can live with their limits, and Metricool charges $10 a month for each X account on top.
Self-hosted, Postiz and Mixpost Lite cost nothing to license, and Mixpost Pro is $299 once. Both still need a server and someone’s time to run it, which this table leaves out.
For a team with many channels, Postiz cloud is one of the cheapest options here. The hosted alternatives win when you want a free plan, an inbox or less work each week.
Your own setup is probably different. Set it below: each tool is priced for it, with our estimate of the hours a week it leaves you.
