How AI credits work
PostPost.ai meters AI usage with credits. One credit is $0.01 of actual AI cost — you’re charged what a generation really costs, rounded up to the next whole credit, not a padded per-post fee.
What costs credits#
- Writing post text, captions, and content ideas — including a caption rewritten per channel.
- Building a content plan, and adjusting one.
- Generating images, carousels, and story visuals.
- Re-scanning your website, or re-reading a product page or a document.
- Regenerating anything you’ve already generated.
What’s always free#
- Scheduling and publishing — unlimited, on every plan, even at a zero balance. Running out of credits never blocks your queue; it only pauses new AI generation.
- Onboarding — the website import and your first preview posts are on us and don’t touch your balance.
- Editing — rewriting a caption yourself, cropping, reordering slides, changing channels or times.
- Support chat — talking to the assistant is free.
Your balance#
- Every new account starts with 50 free credits to try AI generation.
- Your plan adds a monthly allowance — 750 on Business, 2,000 on Pro, 4,000 on Studio, 8,000 on Agency — which refreshes each month.
- The wallet belongs to the account owner and is shared across all of their brands and team members. One pool, one number to watch.
- You can see the balance in the sidebar and in Settings, where a recent-spend list shows what each charge was for (“Post image”, “Content plan”, “Caption”).
Failed generations and refunds#
- Images and carousels are charged upfront and automatically refunded if the generation fails. You never pay for a picture you didn’t get.
- Text generation is charged after the fact, by actual cost — if nothing was generated, nothing is charged.
Running out#
When a wallet can’t cover a generation, PostPost.ai stops that generation and says so, instead of half-producing something. Your scheduled posts keep publishing.

You can top up any time — 500 credits for $10, 1,400 for $25, or 3,000 for $50. Your monthly allowance is always spent first, so a top-up is only touched once the month’s credits are gone — and unlike the allowance, top-up credits don’t expire when the month rolls over.
Why credits and not “posts”#
Because a post isn’t one price. A text-only post costs a fraction of a ten-slide carousel, and a plan for four weeks costs more than a single caption. Metering the real cost means a month of light use is cheap and you’re never billed for a package you didn’t use.
For anything about invoices, payments, or your subscription, ask in the support chat — the assistant has no access to billing records, and a human will pick it up.
